C G7C But they don't last long if they try.
Am G Pollution, pollution,
F E You can use the latest toothpaste,
F C G7 C And then rinse your mouth with industrial waste.

C G7 Just go out for a breath of air,
‑ C And you'll be ready for Medicare.
C7 F The city streets are really quite a thrill.
C G7C If the hoods don't get you, the monoxide will.
Am G Pollution, pollution,
F E Wear a gas mask and a veil.
F C G7 C Then you can breathe, long as you don't inhale.

C G7 Lots of things there that you can drink,
‑ C But stay away from the kitchen sink.
C7 F The breakfast garbage that you throw in to the Bay,
C G7C They drink at lunch in San Jose.
Am G So go to the city, see the crazy people there.
